Why handmade?

For me, this comes naturally because handmade is 

what I know.

I come from a very creative and resourceful family.  

My family farms, but in addition to that, my dad does 

woodwork, my mom makes stained glass, and my 

brother machines parts.

I have a particular fondness of old objects and things 

that are handmade because it's a true craft made by skilled hands, not a production line.  So many things have become efficient, predictable, and controlled.  

That doesn't leave much room for creativity.  I put a 

lot of love and care into the bags I make; I want them 

to be something treasured and individual.

There’s just a charm and warmth about handmade 

items that you can’t reproduce.  The best gifts are ones that someone took the time to make.  I have creative talent and quality workmanship that I want to combine with that personal touch.
